Our History
The Ministerial Association organized a community clothes closet, food pantry and other related services for the people of Pender County in 1982. On March 8, 1982, Pender County Christian Services (PCCS) was incorporated as a non-profit organization, and the food pantry opened its doors for the first time in June, 1982. At that time, the operating hours were Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. Over 250 families were served in the first nine months of operation.
PCCS is overseen by a Board of Directors and operated by an Executive Director, two paid part-time employees, and numerous volunteers.
